Laura Nelson Baker began working in the Unity Settlement House in Minneapolis MN as a secretary (1947-1949), then as an editor of the Richfield News (Richfield MN, 1949-53), and supervisor of the manuscript reading room of Bancroft Library, University of California, Berkeley (1955-57).
